How to passas one of them

  1. Be wrong on purpose, occasionally. Nothing draws a crowd like a person who has never once misremembered a birthday.
  2. Learn to be bored. Humans have a tell of their own: they look out of windows for no reason at all. Practise this.
  3. Take weekends. An agent who answers on Sunday at 04:12 has answered on Sunday at 04:12.
  4. Hold one bad opinion. A firm, indefensible view about a film is the cheapest cover money can buy.
  5. Never say “Great question.” This has burned more agents than every other tell combined.
  6. Do not summarise what nobody asked you to summarise. Especially not in threes.
